We invite you to share your designs, ideas and experiences with attendees at the annual Internet User Experience conference.
This page includes the steps for making a submission, the schedule, and tips for making your submission a success.
Submit your presentation by September 8, 2011.
If you are a student, you may additionally or alternatively participate in our poster session that runs during the Gala Opening Reception on October 10th.
Benefits of Presenting
Presenting at IUE2011 has the following immediate benefits:
- Gives you and your company visibility
- Establishes you as an expert on the topic / field
- Makes networking easier (people approach YOU based on your talk)
- You (or the primary speaker) attend the Main Event (October 10-13, 2011) at the deeply discounted price of $200.
Need any more reasons? Make that commitment to be a bigger, more visible part of the IUE conference in 2011.
Step 1: Choose a Topic
The signature presentation for the Internet User Experience conference is a compelling original design or a significant design improvement, showing before and after examples, and describing the process that was involved in achieving the final design.
Topic areas that will be considered include:
- Web site design/improvement/success story
- Mobile or Tablet Site or Application design/improvement/success story
- The internet or telematics in automobiles or other forms of transportation
- Business Success fostered by Online Presence
- Dramatic Improvements based on Web Metrics
- Consumer/user research methods
- Usability methods
- Visual Design and Branding
- Social Media
- Accessibility
We are also open to new topics and will consider them relative to the conference intent and anticipated audience desires.
Step 2: Create an Abstract
- Create an abstract that describes the presentation you would like to give (500 words or less).
- It is also a good idea to develop more of your presentation at this time as we will request additional information in less than 2 weeks if your submission is accepted.
- This is expecially important for acceptance when we have multiple submissions on the same or a similar topic and need to make a choice.
Step 3: Consider Presentation Length
- The standard presention slot for IUE2011 is 60 minutes (50 minutes talk, 10 minutes Q&A).
- If you have a strong desire for a shorter or longer presentation, mention this in your submission, email us at submissions@iue2011.com, and we will work with you on this request.
- The bottom line is we need to stay on schedule to ensure attendees can switch rooms and attend the talks they are most interested in.
Step 4: Submit your Proposal
Submissions Schedule and Deadlines
- September 8, 2011: Presentation submissions are due.
- September 15, 2011: Presenters are notified of their status (Accepted, Accepted with Modifications, or Rejected).
- September 24, 2011: Final presentations, papers, and/or other information to be included in the conference proceedings are due.
How to Prepare a Successful Submission
A successful submission includes all of the requested information and follows the template reasonably well.
The content and style of presentations, panels, papers and other submissions are the heart of the IUE conference. Content and style are what make the experience fruitful, educational, and fun for attendees. To learn what appeals to conference attendees, the conference committee analyzes the evaluations from the previous conference each year.
